Agriculture & Strengthening the Economy

Louisiana Caucus

Hill currently serves on the Agriculture committee in the state legislature.  Louisiana farming, seafood, timber and cattle play a vital part of our economic structure. As a third generation cattle rancher, she knows the issues facing farming communities.  Ranchers and farmers in district 32 know Hill, that she is  one of them, fighting for their best interest in Baton Rouge. District 32 is a rural district; its legislator must understand rural issues to be effective.  Dorothy Sue Hill is a member of the Allen, Beauregard and Louisiana cattlemen’s association. Dorothy Sue Hill is a member of the Louisiana Farm Bureau and a Louisiana timber producer. In 2014 Dorothy Sue Hill authored (2) separate bills; HB 304 & HB 1098 benefiting and protecting Louisiana farmers and cattlemen. To protect timber producers Dorothy Sue Hill authored a bill (HB 184) that became law (Act 108) clarifying the timber theft statute. Agriculture has a major economic impact in district 32. In fact, Agriculture and its related industries is the largest employer in our district. The State Representative from District 32 must understand and have experience in this industry- the hard working people of this area deserve experienced representation.
